Project description

The project Get United or The Silent Rumble of Another Division is realized within Nations Divided, Festival of Contemporary Art, Varna.
The work of Samuil Stoyanov analyses the interaction between two seemingly diametrically opposed problems. One of them treats the attitude towards human life in its embryonic phase of existence, while the other treats the utopia of living in global peace, harmony and good will. This project presents the intentional abortion as an act which symbolically compresses in itself events of social and political significance.
To the author, the embryos are human beings, and in this sense abortion is a murder and genocide against the most marginal group of our societies. That’s why the pursuit of global unity and peace seems absurd when at the same time it is a common practice in almost all nations around the world to harshly take away the life of the most defenseless ones.
